Memories of German crimes

When the Germans ruled in Poland, they committed various crimes. They burned towns and villages and beat innocent people. They threw children into the fire alive or made them enter the house and then set [the buildings on fire]. They did not allow people to go to church and forbade Polish youth from learning about wise Polish heroes. They killed Polish teachers, burned books, and did not let us learn wise things. They took what they could from Poland and transported it to their country. They made orphans of children and widows of wives. It was very hard and sad for us when the Germans were in Poland.
