Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the witness testified as follows:

Name and surname Antonina Stefańska
Age 43 years old
Parents’ names Jan and Maria
Place of residence the settlement of Połaniec, Sandomierz District
Occupation farmer
Religious affiliation Roman Catholic
Criminal record none

I permanently reside in Połaniec and I spent there the German occupation. I know that the Jews were displaced from Połaniec in 1942 by the gendarmerie from Sandomierz. I do not remember the name of the chief officer or, in particular, if he was called Demajer. They shot dead several dozen Jews at that time for failure to immediately leave their apartments. Marian Kłosowicz was shot dead in Połaniec on the street in 1942. I heard that he had been shot in the head by a gendarme from Rytwiany (I do not know his name) and by a German colonist from Sielec, Henryk Rösler, who is already dead. In 1943, the same people killed Władysław Barański, Jan Murczkiewicz and Jan Sutek. In July 1943 in Połaniec, the gendarmerie from Staszów and their chief officer, reportedly Rippert, shot dead veterinarian Tadeusz Górka, Jan Liwiński, Tadeusz Bryk, Władysława Wałcerz, and Henryk Kuć.

In September 1943, the gendarmerie from Staszów and Janczewski arrested and shot dead Edmund and Eugeniusz Jaszyn, and Piotr Sojda. They were accompanied by gendarme Fenske, a famous sadist and executioner. In 1944, the gendarmerie from Staszów, that is, gendarme Janczewski and others, collected contributions in the form of fat. In the same year, the Staszów gendarmerie confiscated cattle. The people were trying to hide anywhere, Stanisław and Władysław Pawlak and Stefan Sekuła went to the village of Winnica, where they were captured and then shot dead in Iwaniska. The gendarmes were accompanied by their chief, Hoff.

In May 1944, Hoff and Janczewski with the gendarmerie carried out a roundup, captured over 100 people, soon released some of them, but many were taken to Staszów, where some of them were again released, but the rest were taken to Germany for labor. During the roundup, they were constantly shooting and they killed Julian Ramos. They spread such terror that some people suffocated while in hiding, for example, Antoni Warchałowski.

I do not know anything else. I do not know the names of other German criminals.
