During the transport on barges on the Yenisei River from Krasnoyarsk to Dudinka, about 50 people died (the total number of [people] transported was 1,700) of dysentery and exhaustion. In the labor camp we lived in damp, bug-ridden barracks, without light, bedding, or special clothes. Murderous quotas and hunger [dominated]. Those who could not work were beaten and starved.

[8.] Life in prisons:

I spent about a year in prison in Kharkov and in Chłodna Góra. In rooms [intended] for 20 people, 100 or more were kept imprisoned. We used the bathhouse once every two months. Hunger and lice caused the spread of diseases. Ill people were taken away. We never received any information from them.
