On 10 February 1940, [I was] arrested along with my family by the NKVD.

Impenetrable Siberia taiga. General rooms in barracks, [illegible] crowded, millions of bedbugs, family tasks ([illegible]).

Mostly foresters and settlers, good relations, people gave each other moral support.

The work lasted eight hours if it was not [illegible]; and I often stayed even three days loading the wagons, with breaks of a few hours, from one trip to the next, and because it was eight kilometres from the place where the wood was stored to the barracks, we were not allowed to go home, but only waited for the wagons at the storehouse.

Until the Soviet-German war, correspondence from the Soviet partition was quite possible.

10. When were you released and how did you reach the army?

In September 1941, on the basis of the amnesty, I was released from Tayshet to join the army. I left with [illegible] no. 50, the Kirov [?] Region, Almaty Oblast on 6 February 1942. I was conscripted to the 10th Infantry Division in Lugovoy.
