In response to the appeal to the families of those murdered in Katyń, I hereby submit the data pertaining to my husband and a copy of a fragment of the list, hoping that information about other martyrs from that place of suffering might also prove useful to you.

1. Henryk Pisarek, son of Paweł, born on 19 January 1913 in Bzianka, Rzeszów district.
2. Last place of residence: the village of Silno, Łuck district (Volhynia).
3. Occupation: headmaster of the elementary school in Silno.
4. Military service: second lieutenant in the reserve of the 6th Podhale Rifles Regiment in Sambor.
5. – (He left on the day of mobilization).
6. The only message came from Kozelsk on 28 December 1939.
7. Submitted by: Helena Pisarek, the wife.

I will try to obtain some photographs from my family, as all photographs in my possession – along with the rest of my belongings – were lost in Volhynia. I survived only because I came to my family to give birth to my child (born on 18 July 1939), who was only a month old when my husband went to war.

Please accept my profound gratitude for your concern and work; I will always remember you in my prayers.
